About the Role

The Buyer, National Direct Response TV position is an opportunity to lead the industry in connected TV at a fast-growing company that has the highest standards for talent, fun, and client success. The ideal candidate demonstrates great critical thinking, strong detail-orientation, solid understanding of the direct response media landscape and phenomenal media outlet management. This role will play a pivotal part in helping Ovative take a leadership position optimizing connected TV as part of an integrated digital strategy.

Responsibilities of a Buyer:

  • Direct Response media and optimization strategy:
    • Support the cross-functional marketing team by providing insights and expertise regarding the role direct response media can play in delivering performance-oriented client goals
    • Develop and execute market strategies and negotiation approaches to achieve performance objectives
    • Understand and find synergies across media channels within the client mix in partnership with other team members
    • Act as a subject matter expert for Direct Response Media strategies by continually staying on top of evolving partner offerings and developments in the media landscape
  • Direct Response media management, execution and regular optimization:
    • Manage day-to-day buy negotiating, execution and stewardship for National Direct Response TV buys for performance-driven client assignments, including:
      • Assist planning team to develop thoughtful strategic media recommendations that meet buy spec parameters such as budget, flighting, performance KPIs and partner considerations
      • Maintain productive relationships with media vendors and their sales representatives, keeping up to date on local media developments and changes in the landscape
      • Work with Ovative cross-functional team to review client business performance and adjust buy approaches based on findings
      • Pull regular reporting and analyze data to inform appropriate optimizations
      • Manage media invoice reconciliation, including importing electronic invoices, matching them to ordered schedules, troubleshooting discrepancies, securing any needed makegoods, and reconciling creative traffic rotations
      • Regularly report budgets and delivery for client reporting, including actualizing after invoice reconciliation and posting
      • Custom analysis, reporting and insights
    • Internal agency and client relationship management:
      • Provide inputs to develop client communication and as appropriate, presenting those materials to the internal agency team and/or client
      • Work to achieve program objectives and KPIs, proactively raising concerns as well as providing potential solutions
      • Align with the agency culture of open communication and 360-degree feedback
      • Maintain collaborative relationships across cross-functional agency teams

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience directly responsible for Direct Response TV buying
  • Great communication and client relationship skills
  • Proven track record of success building strong local market relationships and driving positive results
  • Proven mastery of the following:
    • CORE Media Solutions media buying system

Preferred:  

  • Strong understanding of digital channels
  • Previous experience in performance marketing, retail, eCommerce, etc
