And The Winner Is!
25 summer beverages faced off in the summer beer tournament, all hoping to be crowned best drink of the summer! The competition included beers, ciders, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Each Ovative employee was allowed to enter 1 drink to the tournament, vying to be crowned the winner and recipient of two VIP tickets to the Summer Beer Dabbler.
And the winner of the 2nd Annual 2016 Ovative/group Summer Beer Tournament is… STIEGL RADLER submitted by Beth!

Finals: 3rd Street Hunny Do and Stiegl Radler competed head to head for the office vote. Stiegl Radler emerged the top choice of the office and winner of the 2016 summer tournament!
Advice From The Winner
Congrats Beth on your winning strategy! Beth submitted Stiegl Radler to the beer tournament this year after a disappointing second place finish with the beer last year. In last year’s tournament Beth lost by 1 vote to Deschutes Fresh Squeezed, and she was disgruntled knowing the co-worker who specifically voted against her (cough, cough Bill). Beth said she thought she would have a good chance of winning this year entering the same beer that finished second last year.
So what is the key to winning the summer beer tournament? “Remember to go with the crowd pleasers – people tend to vote for clean, refreshing beers when it comes to their favorite summer drink,” says Beth.
What’s Next For The Beer Tournament?
When asked about the inspiration for this event, Lori the founder responded, “You know Ovative, everyone likes a competition!” Lori predicts Ovative will begin a winter beer tournament as well so the office gets to experience different seasonal beers, and she hopes the entries will continue to diversify with more non-beer and non-alcoholic options.

Thank you to all the participants who submitted beer entries and those who sampled and voted in the tournament! Stay tuned for results of the next winter tournament!
